Phosphate Buffered Saline solution is used as cold enrichment for recovery of Yersinia sp. when present in low numbers during convalescent stage.

PRECAUTIONS
This medium is for IN VITRO diagnostic use only.


STORAGE
Store prepared media at 2-8 C protected from direct light.


SIGN OF DETERIORATION
Media should not be used if the expiry date has passed. Prepared media should not be used if there are signs of contamination or deterioration (evaporation or discoloration).


PROCEDURE
Prior to inoculate, the prepared media should be brought to room temperature.

  1. Inoculate tubes with a small amount of stool. Mix well on Vortex.
  2. Incubate at 4 C for up to 20 days.
  3. Streak a Yersinia Selective Agar every week and examine for typical Yersinia colonies.
